Melissa D. - School Couselor

"It's been my experience as a youth counselor that there's no such thing as a stereotypical substance abuser… They come from all sorts of backgrounds. The one thing they all have in common is that… at some point in time … if even just once… they were all willing to try out or experiment with drugs, alcohol or tobacco." |

"If there's one thing I've noticed as a high school teacher, it's how much peer pressure there is. When it comes to clothes, cars, boyfriends, girlfriends, or drugs, there's pressure. Of course, parents can tell their kids to "just say no to drugs", but unfortunately, that's not enough to get peers to back off and sometimes it even causes pressure to increase. The thing I like most about this program is that it gives kids a socially acceptable way to stop the pressure to try drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Everybody wins with this program… administrators, teachers, parents, kids… everybody."

"You know what's cool, I don't have to tell my parents that I stay away from drugs… I can prove it! Besides, it's more important to prove to my parents that they can trust me, than it is to convince my friends that I'm not a chicken or dork because I won't try drugs. If testing makes my parents sleep better at night and not worry about me. Then I don't care if they want to test me. It's no big deal and only takes a few minutes anyway. If my parents want to test me, that's fine. | |

"School administrators and parents often prefer to view substance abuse incidents as exceptions. Whether it's an exception or a general rule, this company found a way for school districts to work together, alongside parents to prevent potential substance abuse problems and fix any problems that already exist. I urge schools to let parents know about this new approach and I think parents should take advantage of it. "

Leslie Duncan - Superintendent of Schools

"Over the last 30 years, I've served as the superintendent of schools in 3 different districts. In my opinion, this company has got it figured out when it comes to helping kids, parents and the school districts they're part of. I'm impressed by the way their whole program is set up. There's absolutely no reason for schools to ignore this opportunity since the work has been done for them and it costs them nothing to participate."
